Really?!? We need a VFMP (Voluntary Flow Management Program) to coordinate back up these releases and then schedule drops of recreational (surfable) flows that will also help flush the river for the fish and wildlife dependent on the S Platte. Hmmmm… How jonesing are you to surf? Will help out with Beavers Wave and 16th and Dave’s, though not sure if Sixx will be surfable at all (keep an eye on RRP gauge and the cam). These low multi-day partial releases are a prime example of why the S Platte River needs some sort of recreational/environmental Voluntary Flow Management Program (VFMP) like the Arkansas Head Water Recreation Area does for the Arkansas River (BV and Salida). Same as yesterday. Possible rain on the radar. Park Rangers at Scout are checking for Coast Guard Approved pfd’s for surfing. Not tickets Saturday issued, just warnings. Have a back up pfd with Coast Guard labels if you are going to surf Scout from here out. LBK
