Per the water manager. “Due to increased outflow from Strontia the Chatfield Reservoir release will increase from 660 cfs to 710 cfs today at 3:00pm, Friday, June 16, 2023.” Meeting at Beavers with the City went well and even a new wave showed up for us at Beavers this afternoon.
Category: Beaver Wave
Leave it to Beaver to be surfable when the RRP waves are not quite in. Beavers gets an extra bump of water from Bear Creek (Bear Creek Reservoir). Look for a wave to show up when the “At Englewood, Co” hits 80cfs. Wave starts to blow out at 350cfs but at that flow you are better off surfing the RRP waves. Chatfield Zero flow Tues. 5/16/23- Beaver’s Surfable
Tuesday look for Beavers as the place to go surf. Rain from the storm last week is still making its way into the S. Platte but unfortunately down-river from RRP. We surfed Beavers last night and it was fun with some new sandbars that have formed in the back pool. Daves Wave is over a […]

Beavers Wave a Hidden Gem
Beavers Wave used to be surfed more when RRP only had Benni’s but the flow was not enough at RRP. Bear Creek down river from RRP would often turn up the volume at Beavers enough for a full on urban surf session between the highways in south Denver like this vid.
Beavers Wave S Platte Trail Repair Controversy
DPR is refusing to work with the river surf community on building an access point to the Beavers Wave. Above is a possible solution. Leave break in the railing and build proper steps with large rocks. More info to come.
