Chatfield decreased to 80cfs at 11:30am Saturday, August 19, 2023. Sixx was surfed Friday at low flow but the Chatty drop to 80cfs will essentially take the surf out of Sixx, Chiclets, and Beavers and 16th to a point. Though the desperate surfers might hit Beavers anyway (it was surfed early Saturday) or Dave’s Wave

Not giving up hope yet… Looking at the water calls for Chatty and the farmers still asking for water presumably for pumpkin lattes and pumpkin beer making stuff. If your jonesing for local surf: Beavers and 16th have some waves right now, and of course Dave’s will be up later in the day. LBK

Chatty is not cooperating but we are under the threat of floods in the area through Sat. We will keeping an eye on the RRP’s gauge and the Sixx Pole Cam for a potential change in surf and update on the Sixx Surf Jam. Later today or Saturday looks interesting…. Stay tuned! LBK

Remnant tropical moisture from tropical storm Harold rounding the western edge of the central U.S. Flash flooding risk

Getting interesting…. Monsoons are predicted to head this way. Will it be enough rain into the foothills to get some quality release out of Chatty soon???? LBK

Chatfield dropped to 20cfs this Monday the 21st but looking back at last year, we got a late water drop the end of August 2022. So there is talk of doing a jam session event at Sixx with an opening window starting basically now. The exact type of jam session and time is yet to

Will still do a surf forecast later today for the week including flow update for Scout, etc. Dave’s Wave will still be surfable in the late afternoon. LBK
-
Disappointing, we had considerable rain last night.. You might be able to surf Beaver Wave or 16th before “that sound” hits in a few hours or you could go to Dave’s Wave later this afternoon. LBK
