After much research, failed attempts for change of status quo, and self-reflection; I have decided to refrain from knowingly promoting river surfing due to river surfing’s unwittingly and knowingly negligent use of unsafe gear (in particular the use of quick release leashes and improperly designed personal floatation devices for river surfing). Quick Release Leashes Are

Chatfield decreased to 80cfs at 11:30am Saturday, August 19, 2023. Sixx was surfed Friday at low flow but the Chatty drop to 80cfs will essentially take the surf out of Sixx, Chiclets, and Beavers and 16th to a point. Though the desperate surfers might hit Beavers anyway (it was surfed early Saturday) or Dave’s Wave

Hidden Scout Wave Cam Revealed!!! Keep reading to find out. Combined surf report for Monday/Tuesday. Extremely hot and dry in metro-Denver before possible afternoon rain storms on Wednesday. Predicting low flow next couple of days; however, the farmers up north are starting to make calls for water. Will keep an eye out for any possible

Couple of the bigger ditches up north are calling for water. Maybe the farmers are having to claim their water rights after all…. Cross our fingers and stay tuned to the Denver Surf Report…. Though, no promise or “false hope” intended.. LBK

No changes today to Chatfield Reservoir release Saturday, July 15, 2023…. 15cfs Dog days of summer flatness in Metro-Denver prevail at least a few more days. Locally this weekend, Dave’ Wave is going to be the place to surf… Travel-wise; Scout Wave in Salida is very much worth the trip for surfers of all abilities;

Surf forecast is similar to yesterday will do an updated forecast later in for the weekend… LBK

As Casey says, “Rather have them save up the water and then send it in bulk later“… Essentially this will make Dave’s Wave the spot to try to learn to surf… Needs a Taquito or bigger longboard or possibly a Wave-O or other inflatable. Bingo was sole surfed this morning. So, there is that spot

High pressure will continue to dominate the weather pattern across Colorado and the West making it rather hot and dry. Monsoonal weather is at least a week away. Result likely means no emergency release of water from Chatfield like we had and surfed the last month or more. Hopefully the monsoons will change that in

Late update. Come on rain! LBK

Locally in Metro-Denver: Bingo Wave in Golden is looking nice; Beavers Wave (http://endlesswaves.net/waves/beaver-wave/) has yet to be surfed this week but is there for the asking…. RRP (Sixx/Benni’s/Chiclets) is taking a break with too low of flow to surf, but there is an interesting non-consumptive junior water rights call that was made noon yesterday. Will

Get your gold pans out and start sifting for lost surfboard fins…. Chiclets will likely be out of range for anything under an inflatable…. Beavers will still be surfable with higher volume boards… Dave’s Wave is likely still w/ too much flow but might be worth a look if you live that way… Bingo wave?…

DWR taketh and giveth cfs; Sixx turns off, Scout Wave turns on! Theoretically Sixx could be shaped and surfed at flows above 125cfs and currently RRP is at 150cfs. Sixx needs a tune-up but one of the waveshaper volunteers is out of town and the others shaper volunteers (you know, the ones who actually busted
