The main reservoir release gate will remain at 75.9 cfs and the fish hatchery will remain at 5 cfs today, Thursday, August 8, 2024.
RRP: 93cfs+/- We keep on just missing the afternoon/evening rains to make things surfable. The lack of surf trend will likely happen again today; however, I am starting to see senior farmer water rights calls stacking up for Chatfield. So who knows if we will see those play out for surfable flow in the near future.
Pueblo: 740cfs+/- P-town new wave was surfed yesterday and the is reported as “Soooo fun”. If flows holds, it will be sooo fun today!
Remember, next week the construction crew will be working right next to the P-town new wave so it will NOT be surfable next week. Hopefully it opens up again while Pueblo still has flow.
Pueblo Chamber of Commerce is very excited about the Waterworks Park (that includes the last drop that we are currently surfing, aka the “P-town new wave”) as also a destination spot for visitors that will in turn spend money on the local Pueblo economy.

Scout: 790cfs+/- Scout is ending out the season with a good steep/fast wave. Flows should hold to next Thursday Aug 15th and then will be likely reduced for the rest of the year.

River Surfing Tip: Consider ear plugs to avoid ear infections and avoid “surfer’s ear” known medically as “exostosis” that is caused by constant cold water in your ear(s) resulting in excessive bone growing in the ear canal that impacts your hearing.

Stay healthy and keep surfing.
