After much research, failed attempts for change of status quo, and self-reflection; I have decided to refrain from knowingly promoting river surfing due to river surfing’s unwittingly and knowingly negligent use of unsafe gear (in particular the use of quick release leashes and improperly designed personal floatation devices for river surfing). Chatfield decreased to 80cfs at 11:30am Saturday, August 19, 2023. Sixx was surfed Friday at low flow but the Chatty drop to 80cfs will essentially take the surf out of Sixx, Chiclets, and Beavers and 16th to a point. Though the desperate surfers might hit Beavers anyway (it was surfed early Saturday) or Dave’s Wave

Matt Brown before he passed away a few years back was the number one fan of “Surf Collusion Zine”. Cool story of this double exposure photo from 1982 of Matt graduating on stage and me doing a frontside grind at “Still Waves” bowl. Yes, the actual name of that bowl. Back in 1982, Matt Brown

Per Brent, “The reallocated storage pool of 20,600 AF was filled to an elevation of 5444.00 at 12:45 pm today.” Sixx should blow out about 5pm. Go surf Benni’s, hopefully the shape it got with the big flows will suffice or a wave shaped volunteer can help it out. Smoke is in the air from

Per the water manager Brent Schantz: “The Reallocated storage pool of 20,600 AF should be full later today. At that point we will start matching outflow to inflow so the discharge through Chatfield may be 800+ cfs. I will send out an email when that occurs.” If this happens, Sixx will blow out at 600cfs
