After much research, failed attempts for change of status quo, and self-reflection; I have decided to refrain from knowingly promoting river surfing due to river surfing’s unwittingly and knowingly negligent use of unsafe gear (in particular the use of quick release leashes and improperly designed personal floatation devices for river surfing). Quick Release Leashes Are

Chatfield decreased to 80cfs at 11:30am Saturday, August 19, 2023. Sixx was surfed Friday at low flow but the Chatty drop to 80cfs will essentially take the surf out of Sixx, Chiclets, and Beavers and 16th to a point. Though the desperate surfers might hit Beavers anyway (it was surfed early Saturday) or Dave’s Wave

Big Benni’s is ripping good per report from the wave. And, shhh….. don’t tell anyone that Bingo at Golden looks tasty for you people with cold water gear, big volume surfboards, and know the trips and traps to that wave.. so be safe surfing Bingo and read up about it at http://endlesswaves.net/waves/golden-whitewater-park/

Technical difficulties on the Benni’s and Chiclets cam…. We hope to get an update soon from Chatfield…. Benni’s should be fun before predicted afternoon storms make it chilly. LBK

Danger Will Robinson!…Use caution surfing today but Big Benni’s is still a safe (safer) option. Sixx is blown out. RRP will be pushing 1,000cfs. Adams County with the confluence of Clear Creek and other water will be over 3,000cfs with strange waves showing up that are no joke. If you are going to try a

Looks like Sixx will be out of play today with rain water still cascading down into the S Platte that is keeping things above 700cfs. Will surely be above surfable level with Chatty increase to 680. Big Bennie’s will be surfable, could use a tune but should be solid at 680+ today.
-
Sixx might be surfable later hopefully like Sunday. Keep an eye on the Union gauge for 600’s to go surf. Big Benni’s will be surfable all day but could use a tune on the WaveShaper. Rain likely will blow out Sixx later in the day…. Waiting on Chatty update. LBK

Foam-ball-Sixx is the spot to surf. You make it green and you make it fun! Our guess was right that the flow would remain the same… LBK
-
Foam-ball-Sixx is surfable. Just need to clean it up with turns. Pic is from yesterday but similar to now after you green it up. Not epic Sixx but real fun to surf! Benni’s is surfable. Could use a waveshaper tune because it was collapsing yesterday. Though with some timing, jump on it when it is

Sixx will be on the edge of surfable. Keep an eye on the cam. Might even get good before the afternoon rain storms. Don’t be discouraged if there is what surfers call a “foam ball” (kayakers call it a foam pile) on the face of a visible wave at Sixx. The wave can often be

Get some Big Benni’s surf tomorrow morning like Jack did Friday evening at about 820cfs… Chiclets is looking rodeo whitewater fun. LBK I

Sixx will be surfable to about noon or so and then blows out. Big-Benny’s will be the spot to surf RRP today and Saturday morning. Official word…. “Chatfield Reservoir release was increased from 510 cfs to 700 cfs today at 09:30am, Friday, June 9, 2023“
