Chatfield Reservoir release was set to 100 yesterday. The release will increase from 100 to 250 cfs today, Wednesday, August 2, 2023.
Well, half the story. It was announced 300cfs yesterday by the DWR Chatfield Reservoir Operations Team though we only got like 94cfs plus some rain bump. So why only a partial release? Was it the broken Chatfield gauge that causes them to hold back? Did somebody not get the release memo? Enquiring minds just want […]
Chatfield release goes to 300cfs today Tuesday, August 1, 2023.
Get it people! Sixx was last shaped for this, so it should be in sometime noonish or so! LBK
Surf Forecast Update Tuesday 8/1/23 & Week (edit Chatty to 300 Sixx/Benni’s surfable)
Monsoons hit last night in Denver though causing runoff a bit more downriver; and with Chatty at “1” cfs, RRP just missed the heavy flows. Sixx is not really surfable. Chiclets is surfable with bigger boards. Update Edit: Chatty just announced going to 300cfs Tuesday 8/1/23 making for Sixx and Benni’s surfable maybe noonish or […]
Chatfield release will be shut off today Monday, July 31, 2023.
Unbelievable! No reason given. LBK
Surf Forecast for Week 7/31/2023-8/4/2023
Monsoons might bring metro-Denver some surf. This week is forecasted with days of some sun, then clouds; and severe afternoon thunderstorms that possibly can bring flooding downpours. Keep an eye on the weather alerts and the gauges along with the Sixx pole cam. Chatfield Reservoir is rather full and water calls are still possible. Will […]
Chatfield decreases from 38 to 20 cfs today, Sunday, July 30, 2023.
Calm before the stir? LBK
No gate change today. The Chatfield Reservoir release will remain at 38 cfs today, Saturday, July 29, 2023.
Hang tight. Pray for monsoon rains early next week. LBK
Surf Forecast for Weekend 7/29-30/2023
Dry Sat/Sun with afternoon rain possible. One forecast shows heavier monsoons next week while other forecasts call for dry weather. Chatfield Reservoir is basically full and it seems almost a third of the normal water calls have not been made yet. Cross our fingers for something surfable at RRP soon! Will send out the Chatfield […]
Chatfield remains 38 cfs today, Fri 7/28/23
JOB is rumored to have just showed up at Scout… If you are there in Salida right now, tell him, “one minute max rides or he gets dropped in on“.. hahahaha Will do a weekend forecast later but keep an eye for evening thunderstorms around metro Denver and maybe, just maybe, a gutter bump surf. […]
