Chatty 110cfs (Sixx???; Scout flushy fun; P-town new wave 5 O’clock)

The main reservoir gate release will increase from 85 to 110 cfs, and the fish hatchery will remain at 5 cfs today, Thursday, August 29, 2024.

RRP: 115cfs+/- (predicted). So this puts it at the very edge of surfable Sixx and with the shaper currently set steep, maybe Sixx will be surfable on shorter boards (if you got hop in your turns that is). Sixx will be surfable on a bigger board if you want to mellow surf it. Chiclets should have a fun wave coming this afternoon that also needs a bigger board or a bodyboard to surf.

Keep an eye on the Sixx Pole Cam to see if the water is creeping up onto the “indicator rock” (flat rock at top of the wave surfer’s right, that needs the water to be at least touching it or better to surf Sixx with anything smaller than a longboard.

Pueblo: 395cfs+/- The release out of the Pueblo Reservoir/Dam has been doing a strange bounce up and down dance but it looks like a bit more water was released. Keep an eye on the gauges and go surf the P-town new wave after 5pm or 6pm when the security guard and construction crews have gone home for the day.

Scout: 474cf+/- The Scout Wave has dropped down close to that flow where the wave can be flushy at times and will collapse on itself. Good thing, this flow keeps the crowds down since it takes fast surfing and strong turns to keep the wave green to stay on it.

Hot out there so maybe a dip at Sixx or Chiclets is in order after work today?!?
