8/23/24 2pm update. The main reservoir release gate will remain at 60 cfs, and the fish hatchery will remain at 5 cfs today, Friday, August 23, 2024.

RRP: 78cfs+/- Rained hard last night and spiked to 120cfs at midnight but quickly drained of by daylight. Monsoons are just not producing enough water into the system for lasting gutter bump. Though 78cfs might be fun for a longboard or bodyboard at Chiclets (drop 1) or Kayaks (aka drop 4).
Pueblo: 336cfs+/- Awesome word that the orang fence has been removed on the sidewalk side of the P-town new wave!!!!
However, the Pueblo Dam cut back the release of water today by 30cfs that will most likely put P-town new wave at its surfable low flow limits just below 350cfs.
But if you are looking for some sort of surf motivation after work today and likely into the weekend to surf the the P-town new wave; yesterday, Tony R. confirmed that the P-town new wave surfs down to at least 360ish cfs. He surfed it with a short board but thinks it would have been better on a bit more size/volume board. Tony also said he didn’t hit the kicker with his board or body (then again Tony amazingly knows how to squeeze good fun rides and fast turns out of low flow times at waves like Scout, Sixx, P-twon new wave, etc)….
Let’s thank the construction workers at the Waterworks Park for the side boulder work that was done at the P-town new wave sidewalk side that looks rather cool…. and for removing the orange fence on that side!!!
Scout: 550cfs +/- Scout Wave looks so fun. Bit more crowd in the line-up today for the beginning of the weekend…. If you can roll out that way, Scout is worth the line-up… but nicely remind folks to read the sign (1 minute rides or 45 second rides if crowded).
Go surf if you are willing to chance it.
