The main reservoir release gate will remain at 60 cfs, and the fish hatchery will remain at 5 cfs today, Sunday, August 18, 2024.
RRP: 68cfs+/- Dog days of flat summer surf. Monsoons look poor today thru the week. We are at the whims of farmer calls for water. Looks like you will need to travel to find surf today and likely the rest of the week but even Scout and P-town new wave are loosing water daily.
Pueblo: 400cfs+/- (predicted) At time of this report, the release from the Pueblo Reservoir/Dam has lowered another 200cfs. Hang tight folks, theoretically P-town’s new is designed to be surfed down to like 350cfs.
Watch-out if you attempt surfing today at the new wave today as it was somewhat shallow at about 600cfs yesterday. Pushing 400+cfs you will likely need a bigger board today and watch those fins, appendages, and please protect your noggin with a helmet as you most likely might hit the concrete kicker in front of the wave while surfing.

Scout: 496cfs +/- Post VFMP is holding. Wave looks like it is still surfing nicely. They even had a sauna tent next to the wave this morning! Couldn’t tell on the cam if they are heating up in the sauna tent au naturel and then standing in line to surf butt naked?…. Actually it is a birthday party set up so don’t try to surf naked today!
Pocket Wave 2.0 (BV): The project apparently has been delayed and looking like it will be pushed off another year due to, “the unpredictable water levels due to maintenance on the Mt. Elbert Power Plant at Twin Lakes and (BV’s) limited permit window (instream work must be completed by October 1st), the delays this month will result in having to postpone the project.”
