The main reservoir release gate will remain at 38 cfs and the fish hatchery will remain at 5 cfs today, Monday, August 5, 2024.
RRP: 60cfs+/- RRP is flat but keep an eye out for potential surfable gutter bump from possible monsoon-like rains this week.
Pueblo: 740+/- P-town new wave is fun. Mind any construction workers but they will be up river and on river left.
Yesterday the new wave and water above and below was teaming with activity by locals, visitors, tubers, families, surfers, anglers, people sightseeing, photographers, park rangers driving buy, etc.
Hope the construction supervisors and Pueblo Whitewater are taking a look at the inexpensive surveillance cam strung up in the trees pointed at the new wave to see exactly how well behaved those recreating in and around the new wave; that by the way, the general public vastly outnumbered the surfers (aka de facto life guards of those being cheered on by the surfers while tubing/swimming/boating thru the new wave).
Surely breaks in the orange fencing with proper safety signage could be placed on the bike path at what are agreed upon safe entry points into the river.
Scout: 700+/- Early week should not be as crowded, so go get it before the guaranteed VFMP flow ends on August 15th. Might see some color change in the river with 10 days of rain in the forecast and sediment (aka dirt) browning the water.
Olympic’s Surfing: Finals day was supposed to happen today but is on hold. It will be live streaming on NBC Peacock – https://www.peacocktv.com
River Surfing Tip: For you goofy-footers, know the origins of the name of your stance. Sure wish I was surfing goofy foot yesterday at P-towns new wave that was an advantage surfing the flatter surfer’s left part of the wave.

Thank the locals you river surf with be it at Scout, Pueblo, RRP, or wherever. 99.9999% of all locals are beyond cool about you showing up to surf with them. Oh and show love to the .0001% as well.
