Chatty 40cfs (Flat RRP; Olympic Surfing Pushed; P-town tubers/swimmers)

The main reservoir release gate will remain at 40 cfs and the fish hatchery will remain at 5 cfs today, Sunday, August 4, 2024.

RRP: 70cfs+/- RRP is flat but could possibly get ankle high slapper waves on a bodyboard/surfmat at Chiclets, No 3. or Kayaks.

Pueblo: 670cfs+/- P-town new wave was surfed at this level yesterday as people on tubes and rafts floated through it. Should be fun again today.

Screen grab from Michael’s FB vid Saturday… Hope the powers overseeing the construction up river from the P-town new wave realize that river surfers are de facto life guards for people floating through that reach of the river. In effect the new wave is very much safer with river surfers there all the time.

Scout: 675cfs+/- Scout Wave’s back pool has been tuned perfect and currently has steep/fast wave that is fun for surfing, tubers, pfd swimmers, boaters, and even commercial rafters to encounter.

Good to see a community embraced wave that Scout Wave is that is also bringing money into the local economy…. Take note Pueblo, Cañon City, other cities, and even metro Denver on how vibrant the interaction and impact a quality built river wave has beyond the river surfing itself!

Olympic’s Surfing: The finals day was pushed off to Monday starting 11am on NBC Peacock.

Rive Surfing Tips: Up river traffic always has the right of way while we are surfing a river wave.

-If tubers/swimmers are dropping into a wave, give them room to safely float by.

-If a boater of any type wants to pass through the wave, promptly get off the wave so they can properly navigate the drop. Do NOT remain surfing on the wave as you are a safety distraction to the boaters.

Be smart when river surfing, safety first for you and others.
