Will update flows when I get the official word from the Chatfield Water Managers later this morning.
RRP: 180cfs+/- Sixx was shaped steep and fun last night so should be similar the first half of the day at the least. Benni’s is surfable as evidenced by the wave indicator of the water touching the bottom of the “helmet and vest” sign. Chiclets has a green faced wave to surf.
The Sixx Pole Cam is a good way see when surf is actually making it to the Sixx wave (especially when the Union gauge is not showing the current flow) or checking if the wave is currently surfable or estimating how the line-up is. Here is the link to the Sixx cam that takes still pics every 15 minutes until 7pm daily- https://www.senserasystems.com/public/embed/3M7824646H83
Pueblo: 830cfs+/- P-town new wave looked nice from yesterday pics and vids at this flow. Hopeful it will hold all day.
Please don’t trespass the upper river active construction zone and any side construction activity. Supposedly the construction foreman will call the police if you appear to be encroaching upon the construction areas. Approach the new wave from the rivers edge rocks or maybe even from the river itself…. Also keep an eye out to possibly assist any tubers who are in the river and are floating into or by the new wave.
Here is the current info on how to get to the P-town’s new wave (starts 3rd paragraph)- http://endlesswaves.net/waves/pueblo-park/
Scout: 600cfs+/- Wave is looking real good but an early heavy lineup has already shown up.
Here is the live cam link for Scout- https://coloradowebcam.net/camera/salida-co-lower-wave-arkansas-river-zoom-tenderfoot-mt
River Surfing Tip: The Denver Surf Report gets the daily Chatfield Dam pre-release announcement from the water managers typically well before it is seen on the gauge for the dam and the gauge for RRP. We try to get the dam pre-release info out to you as soon as possible each day during the river surfing season.
It took us over two years of requests to get this Chatfield water manager daily release daily information. We have asked the Chatfield Dam water managers to automate their daily pre-release info for all to subscribe to and they hope to do that one day, but is not currently available.
The Denver Surf Report blog author has been river surfing for going on eight years and gladly provides insight into daily surf conditions of other surf waves the metro-Denver surf community often surfs.
We are always open for ideas on how to improve the daily surf reports.
