The main reservoir release gate will increase from 110 cfs to 160 cfs, and the fish hatchery will remain at 10 cfs today, Saturday, July 27, 2024.
RRP: 180cfs+/- (predicted) Sixx will come back to a fun low flow surfable level hopefully with some additional native flow in the river.
Also keep an eye on late rainstorms that could bring in some extra gutter bump surf. Chiclets is surfable.
Watch the Union gauge and the Sixx cam for indications the surf has come up a bit at Sixx by early afternoon.

Pueblo: 820cfs+/- (predicted)… If the extra 100cfs from the Pueblo Dam release this AM holds, should see surf at around the 800cfs level… and will lack the crowds you would encounter typically at Scout.

P-town new wave vids sent to me last night and early this AM looked fun at 720ish cfs so it should be even better as the day goes on with potentially more flow.
BTW, if you want to dial in a wider wave, the P-town new wave is very friendly on both sides of the wave for “suitcase drops” (incorrectly called “bomb drops”) and seated push-ins.
Here is link to the details on how to get to and park the P-town new wave that starts on the 3rd paragraph of Jake’s page- http://endlesswaves.net/waves/pueblo-park/
Scout: 590cfs+/- Weekend hours are in effect at Scout as the crowd builds on the what is looking like currently is probably the best wave in N. America right now…. Note, yesterday it was crowded and then river rains brought in some brown water and the crowds dissipated…. pray for crowd killing rains at Scout today.
River Surfing Tip: Check various weather sources for any potential rain in the forecast for possible gutter bumps at waves like Sixx, Scout, or P-town’s new wave.
For example for today, my basic weather phone app shows dry all day; but according to last night’s tv weather forecaster, we might see a couple rounds of rain today that could cause some flooding near Sixx or the lines of storms could stay well to our north and we get nothing for it…. Keep them eyes peeled.
