The main reservoir release gate will increase from 190 cfs to 215 cfs, and the fish hatchery will remain at 10 cfs today, Saturday, July 20, 2024.
RRP: 230cfs+/- Sixx looked to be surfing good the first half of the day and will get better as the increase in flow hits early this afternoon.
Scout: 750cfs+/- Surf is up…. Weekend tourist hours are in effect because, it is the weekend and will have long lineups to surf.
Pueblo: 900cfs+/- Surf is up…. Good alternative to the very crowded Scout Wave.
River Surfing Tips: When the line up is long on one side and short on the other side, be ready to even up the turns. Short-side lets at least 2 people go on the long side to every one on the short-side.
Another way of evening out the short-side to the long-side is to glance across the wave to the end of the line when you get to the short-side. Mentally you are now behind that person. So as you move up you will know is it a 2/1 ratio or a 3/1 ratio or even briefly back to 1/1 ratio.
Just be cool during crowded surf sessions and also limit your ride to 30 seconds or count your turns that equate to 30 seconds.
