Chatty ups to 190cfs (Sixx at Fun Flow Surf/P-town & Scout are up/History of Surfing)

The main reservoir release gate will increase from 135 cfs to 190 cfs at noon, and the fish hatchery will remain at 10 cfs today, Thursday, July 18, 2024.

RRP: Sixx will be fun today as the flow goes up this afternoon.

Note, the Union gauge might be reading correctly now after comparing it to the Beaver gauge that we adjust for Bear Creek inflow… Sorry if this is confusing.

The best bet is to confirm how surfable Sixx is by looking at the cam on Sixx that updates every 15minutes to 7pm daily that you can scroll back in time after clicking the “hamburger” (three lines top left corner). Here is the cam link- https://www.senserasystems.com/public/embed/3M7824646H83

Pueblo: 900cfs+/- No word yet on how it was surfing but guesses are it is good.

Scout: 725cfs+/- Reports on Scout are the wave is really fun.

River Surfing Tips: Know your roots and dig into the history of surfing and your surfing (especially surf style) will improve!!!….

Yesterday we visited the California Surf Museum in Oceanside, CA. An amazing display of California surfing history that had so influenced surfing and in great part still does to this day.

Did you know, for example, about the development and importance of the “Fish surfboard”, that many of us surf in the river?!? See pics below..
