River Surfing Tip: “Step-Up surfboards” are longer versions of shortboards that are frequently equipped with a round tail; but for river surfing, any bigger board can be considered a step-up (excluding longboards and inflatables since they are their own categories). An examples of river surfing step-up boards are- Mr Mike’s 5’7” Softech Flash foamie; My 5’10” INT Fish or 6’2” CI/INT collaboration round pin; or even higher volume boards like a Scout Burke 5’2” Fish foamie.
