The main reservoir release gate will be reduced from 240 to 150 cfs, and the fish hatchery will remain at 5 cfs today, Wednesday, July 10, 2024.
RRP: Still remains surfable at Sixx and Chiclets while Benni’s drops just at or below surfable level. Sixx will be in the fair to poor range but still fun to surf if you can figure it out.
Thank your waveshaper volunteers at RRP for all the adjustments over the long surf season we have had….
Golden: Clear Creek is a chilly option to look at but Bingo is a sketchy shallow wave to surf.
Pueblo: Flow has been backed off to just below 600cfs out of the Pueblo Dam. The Levee waves are out of play but the P-town new wave was surfed yesterday at about 600cfs but wasn’t as dynamic of a wave. We are still figuring out the new wave and not sure what surfs it best board-wise at flows below 700cfs (note, it was reported that 700cfs was good). Apparently the new wave was designed to be surfable down to 350cfs but that has yet to be seen.
Scout: As the snow melt season is or has ended for the Ark, the flow has backed down below 900cfs but the wave is reported to be surfing real well and maybe even better than last year’s similar flow.
Future Out Look: Scout wave might be the spot to surf for the near future. RRP will need calls for water and will likely see it because Chatfield is full. Question is, will the calls be robust enough to send enough water to keep Sixx alive? Then there is gutter bumps.
Pray for heavy rains as we switch from El Niño to La Niña and predictions are for possible monsoons making its way up to Colorado as we end out the summer months.
Go surf before it is gone completely.
