This June 29th marks five years since the flush drowning death of Michael Robert James while river surfing the “Stair Case Wave” in Buena Vista, Colorado in 2019. The exact reason(s) that caused his drowning have never been determined and maybe could not have been determined.
On behalf of the river surfing community, we left some white flowers in remembrance of Michael Robert James at his memorial bench located at the Valmont Disc Golf park in Boulder, Colorado.
Thank you Michael for your river surfing passion and stoke you brought and gave to river surfing. We know you are dearly missed by your family, loved one, friends, and your communities.
