Worldwide, we are celebrating the joy and excitement that surfing and surfing culture brings us all.
Locally, let’s start off meeting up at River Run Park early in the day at Benni’s and Chiclets or whenever you can get there…. Activities will likely include but not limited to:
- Surfsquatch welcome
- Trash cleanup (do your part in cleaning up some around the waves)
- Surf sessions (give Big Benni’s and Chiclets a go and maybe even walk down to Wave Sixx for a surf check)
- Meet and greet (all day, say hello to your surf friends and make new friends to share the stoke of surfing be it in the river or whatever surf style you bring to the community)
- Sidewalk chalk art (surf themed)
- Rodeo Hole bodyboard surf session 11am – 3pm (yes this is in Golden on the Clear Creek you will need to drive to)
- 8pm local surf bands The Plastic Rakes with the Vampire Squids from Hell, and Overland Stage Raiders at the Goosetown Tavern 3242 E Colfax Ave Denver, CO (Ages 16+ show, $15)
So bring some beach chairs, a shade tent, some beverages/eats, boards, 80’s style boombox, and zink to protect that nose, and bring your positive vibe that I have been so glad to see from the metro Denver surf scene!!!!
