The main reservoir gate release will increase from 550 cfs to 625 cfs, and the fish hatchery will remain at 5 cfs today, Friday, June 14, 2024.
Friday surf will be fluffy fun at Sixx for a few more hours (go get it now) and then by say 3pm or 4pm it might be harder to surf with another additional 75cfs hitting Sixx and potential heavy rains in the front range headed our way. Big Benni’s will be excellent to at least before the afternoon heavy rains come in as predicted in a few hours. Chiclets will be fun to surf today as well pending the gutter bump.
Saturday should dry out and the day’s surf will start at Big Benni’s for International Surfing Day!
Chill Foundation: Big thanks to those giving back to surfing by helping out with the Chill Foundation- Denver this week at RRP assisting with teaching river surfing; and to those cheering on the youth while making room for them to share the river at Benni’s and Chiclets.
Chill Foundation was started in 1995 by Donna Burton Carpenter and Jake Burton Carpenter (Burton Snowboards) and is a non-profit originally formed to teach snowboarding to youth who otherwise would not have the opportunity due to various social and/or economic reasons. Denver is one of the many cities in the US and abroad with Chill programing that has evolved from teaching snowboarding to include teaching skateboarding and surfing (river surfing for Denver).

International Surfing Day is tomorrow June 15th so come on out Saturday to RRP to surf with your fellow river surfers and hang with like minded people to celebrate surfing culture.
Later in the evening let’s meet up for some radikal surf/psychedelic/punk fusion surf bands, The Plastic Rakes and the Vampire Squids from Hell, at the Goosetown Tavern 3242 E Colfax Ave Denver.
I will post up a reminder early tomorrow about International Surf Day, so be prepared to bring some lounge chairs, etc. for an early gathering that should last all day.
