Chatty ups to 425cfs (Reynolds Landing Comments Due Today to USACE)

The main reservoir gate release will increase from 375 cfs to 425 cfs at 12:00pm, and the fish hatchery will remain at 5 cfs today, Saturday, June 8, 2024.

A lot of surf around Colorado today. Locally we will have RRP up to 425cfs out the dam and with the gem of Wave Sixx at excellent level. G-wood is at the best flow of the season this weekend. Big Sur is rumored to be in. I’m at awe of those traveling river surfers who score waves rarely surfed.

Casey Cupp at G-wood longboarding big water yesterday.

Reynolds Landing (Littleton by Breckenridge Brewery): The City of Littleton will be re-doing the drops in the stretch of the river behind the brewery at Reynolds Landing Park. We have a chance to get more surfable waves built as described in the original renderings and permit request to the US Army Corp of Engineers. Funds have been obtained to re-do those drops. Now we need to remain involved so the promises of surfable waves are built.

Today is the deadline for public comment for the USACE permit. Please send an e-mail today simply asking that surfable river waves be built per plan at Reynolds Landing project and that the surf community be involved in the selection process of the construction firm, wave design process, and oversight of the construction of the waves.. Send an e-mail to: section408nwo@usace.army.mil
