The main reservoir release gate will be decreased from 650 to 600 cfs, and the fish hatchery will remain at 5 cfs today, Wednesday, May 15, 2024.
Not sure how much 50cfs reduction will do but…. might help Sixx get a tad bit greener. Sixx will still be somewhat fluffy but if you jump on it and do the slow turns, you can actually green up the face slightly and then ride off the foamie sides with hard turns. I actually have fun surfing it Sixx like that. Give Sixx a try this afternoon and then go hit “Big Benni’s”.
You say where is “Big Benni’s”?… Well that is just what we call Benni’s when it get bigger flow like what we have now. Yesterday after Sixx blew out and after giving that wave some shaping attention, Ocky spent a good amount of time figuring out how to shape Benni’s and he got Benni’s tuned up nicely for us. If you have not surfed Benni’s, now is the time to get yourself pounded on it. Benni’s is such a different and fun wave to surf at higher flows!
