Chatty 90cfs

No change at Chatfield today. The main reservoir release gate will remain at 90 cfs, and the fish hatchery will remain at 5 cfs today, Tuesday, April 16, 2024.

Chatfield is playing that game of just at the almost pushing surfable flow down to Sixx. We had rain last night but it seemed localized and not real really pushing up the natural flow much more. Sixx is bouncing around below 120cfs that isn’t really worth jumping out of work or skipping the gym for unless you really want to surf.

Beavers is at 235cfs+/- due to an extra 100cfs or so coming out of Bear Creek that connects w/ the Platte downriver from RRP. Beavers will be a fun place to surf today.

16th and Dave’s are in play.

Scout is bouncing around 300cfs and people are surfing it or hope to drive on up for some low flow turns if it goes a bit higher.

The anticipation is bumming everyone right now for river surfing..

By the way, if you must leash it river surfing, please read this self-releasing mod article for consideration. Would hate to lose any one of you to a leash entanglement drowning while river surfing: https://denversurfreport.blog/2024/04/15/self-releasing-leash-zip-tie-mod/

Educate yourself on dangers of using a leash while river surfing. Pic from Badfish Blog post 2022, “Any leash can drown any surfer”

Be smart, be safe.
