No change at Chatfield today. The main reservoir release gate will remain at 120 cfs, and the fish hatchery will remain at 5 cfs today, Wednesday, March 27, 2024
River Run Park (RRP): Early spring surf is still here in metro-Denver. Sixx was surprisingly fun yesterday at like 150cfs +/-. Water temp will be a bit warmer today rising from 40 degrees up to a balmy 50 degrees in the afternoon. The RRP gauge is wonky at times and stops showing accurate flows. So glance at the cam and if it looks barely surfable then it will be better in person and go surf it… Grab your thickest wetsuit, hood, gloves, and booties give Sixx a surf… Chiclets sand/silt bar behind the wave is set up perfect, so Chiclets is looking good, though need a board with more volume.
Here is the cam for Sixx that takes pics every 15 minutes up to 7pm… https://www.senserasystems.com/public/embed/3M7824646H83
Here is the gauge for RRP but it hangs up for hours at time for some reason so don’t bet the farm on it… https://dwr.state.co.us/Tools/Stations/PLAUNICO?params=DISCHRG
Note, all the waves at RRP were built for no need of leashes with friendly eddy service and even the signage say no leashes. So learn to surf without a leash at RRP.
Beaver Wave: Is likely surfable, but have not got any feed back on anyone willing to surf it yet this season. The wave is a bit tricky to surf so go with someone who has surfed it before.

Note, Beavers Wave also does not need a leash.
GO GET SOME SURF TODAY, because my bet is that Chatty gets turned down in the next day or so.
