Buena Vista plans to create a green faced wave, similar to the Scout Wave in Salida, by revamping the current version of Pocket Wave. The project is called “Pocket Wave 2.0”.
A public update meeting will be held Thursday 8/17/2023 7pm in the Buena Vista Community Center on Pocket Wave 2.0… No word yet if it will be Zoomed live or not.

Construction work is rumored to start possibly later this month on Pocket Wave but apparently they are still fundraising for Pocket Wave 2.0.

The Denver Surf Report applauds efforts like Pocket Wave 2.0 to build more actually surfable waves such as green faced smooth fast tall waves like Scout, Boise, Bend, RRP, etc. This embraces the current and future growth of river surfing from previously being treated as an afterthought in the building of crumbly wave whitewater parks that for too many decades were designed primarily for kayaking and SUP. We can’t wait to see to see how Pocket Wave 2.0 turns out.
