DWR taketh and giveth cfs; Sixx turns off, Scout Wave turns on!

Theoretically Sixx could be shaped and surfed at flows above 125cfs and currently RRP is at 150cfs. Sixx needs a tune-up but one of the waveshaper volunteers is out of town and the others shaper volunteers (you know, the ones who actually busted their butt’s since early May for us) are probably taking a well deserved break from shaping. Hopefully someone will get down there to shape it depending on the Chatty release today and the rest of the week…. Will update Chatty flow later.
(Note, if you are interested in becoming a daytime office hours shaper volunteer, put your name in the hopper by clicking on this: https://denversurfreport.blog/2023/07/05/rrp-needs-additional-waveshaper-volunteers-here-is-how-you-can-help/)
We are not looking for any big water increase today through the end of the week since the weather is dry and Strontia flow into Chatty is currently at only 180cfs; meaning, might have to look for surf else where… but never say never.

Other Places to Surf:
Golden will be surfable. Pueblo is below surfable. Scout is crazy good depending on flow… though..
Scout may look tasty but take care. Wave was adjusted with sand bags as the flow dropped a bit and is creating a nice big green face. Word is, it should hold like this for the rest of the summer…. The easiest eddy out from the Scout Wave is on the right side of the river (side with a sidewalk) just past the wave train rapids behind the wave about a 100 feet down from the wave with an eddy pool pull out spot. There is also a tricky narrow eddy on the other side of the river that runs you up to the wave at the fish ladder (dirt parking lot side of Scout)… The wave train behind the wave is not for the faint of heart…. Walk, look, and talk the wave there and get eddy suggestions from the confident surfers who are hitting the wave.
RIVER SURFING TIP: Patience is a virtue…. Whatever?!?…. Go try to surf another wave this week.. Chiclets, Beavers, Bingo, Scout, etc. just do your homework by starting here: https://endlesswaves.net/waves/
SURF TRIVIA: What does “going left” or “going right” exactly means on a wave?
PRIOR SURF TRIVIA ANSWER: Australian surfers call US surfers “Seppos” as a way of making fun of US surfers…. Seppo is short for “septic tank,” which rhymes with “yank” (as in yankees-Americans). Surfer Mag in the 1980’s held a contest in their magazine to find an equal snarky slang for Australian surfers, but no such slang was ever found.
