Chatfield release to 950cfs at 8:30am Fri 6/23/23 (Surf Triv-Terms)

Flow will be too much for Sixx. Big Benni’s should be surfable but might need a waveshaper tune-up.

Bingo in Golden is sketch but surfable. Be careful there and educate yourself before attempting it. See: http://endlesswaves.net/waves/golden-whitewater-park/

Trestles is in but it is a no joke wave. See: http://endlesswaves.net/waves/trestle-wave/

Pueblo is still without water but we never know when they turn it on or off down there. See: http://endlesswaves.net/waves/pueblo-park/

Glenwood is apparently still in. Some of the metro-Denver crew are contemplating some cold surf there in the next few days. If you go, show respects to the locals. Here is the intel: http://endlesswaves.net/waves/glenwood-wave/

SURF TRIVIA: Name some outdated surf slang terms.

LAST SURF TRIVIA ANSWER: When Nixon became president, he purchased an ocean front home in San Clemente, CA a short distance from a surf spot on a US military base called “Trestles” near the train tracks and was/is one of the best and consistent surfs spots in Cali. Used to be that surfers in the 1950’s/60’s would sneak through the sand dunes onto the military land and into the surf break at Trestles. But with Nixon’s new home known as the “Western White House“, Trestles became impossible to sneak on in to surf. Ironically, Nixon toward the end of his rocky second term, made the military to give up the beach area of Trestles to become a state park and now known as San Onofre State Beach. The World Surf League championship tour finals will be held at “Lowers” in Trestles Sep 8 – Sep 16, 2023. By the way, the river wave surf spot in Denver called “Trestle” or us surfers like to call it “Trestles” is also next to train tracks basically under the bridge used by the trains. “Denver Trestles” comes in at about the flows we are seeing right now but it is not a simple wave to surf and the eddy left seam is real tricky as your board drops briefly below water level due to aerated water. Don’t surf the Denver Trestles alone, and here is the details to that wave: http://endlesswaves.net/waves/trestle-wave/
