Surf is likely blown out but Big Benni’s might be worth a check, though will likely need a waveshaper tune. Heavy rains late last night flooded into the S Platte River from the tributaries and raised the flow back up. The flow is dropping but, with the 800cfs from Chatty this morning and more rain storms are expected mostly after 4 p.m will surely raise the RRP flow level to a thousand cfs or more.
Golden is at a sketch level. Pueblo just lost flow, so no surf there.
Friday should be a sunny day with better surf in the forecast.
But as always, keep an eye on the river gauges for possible surf.

Colorado proclaimed June 22nd as “Protect Our Rivers Day” but in reality everyday is protect our rivers day. The Clean Water Act (CWA) signed into law by President Nixon establishes the basic structure for regulating discharges of pollutants into the waters of the United States and regulating quality standards for surface waters. Unfortunately the foresight of Nixon and the days of bipartisan support has been eroded and attacked by current dysfunctional governance and recent Supreme Court decisions allowing landowner to subvert the Clean Water Act.
It does not mater your politics, or the laws on the books or not on the books, or even our judiciary turning a blind eye. Polluting headwaters purposefully, negligently, or unknowingly all runs down into our rivers that we drink from, water our farms use, and rivers we recreate and surf in….
We can all agree on clean water and we should demand clean water…. No easy solutions but all polluters should be held responsible and accountable including ourselves.
Place your trash in the bins, fix your leaky vehicle, be responsible with chemicals, and support those who truly try to keep our waterways clean.
