LOGS/TREE: Glenwood is getting surfed as the rapid snowmelt comes in. But so do the huge logs and trees.

Head’s up while surfing and really each side of the river should have a community whistle and throw bag. Mater of fact, bring your own throw bag and whistle. Heck give back to G-wood and leave and donate two whistles.
FOOT ENTRAPMENT: Montrose yesterday, it was reported of a near death experience when a surfer got a foot-entrapment and only survived by barely being able to keep their head above water for air. But if it were not for others noticing and the person holding onto their board to help them push their head up, surfer was close to drowning. Eventually the surfer was able to free themselves but we are talking about an experienced kayaker who was river surfing and knew what to do, find a pocket of breathable space created from the board.
Don’t stand in the river no-matter how shallow until you get to the eddy or when you have have a good hold of the shore’s edge with your hands.
